  • Big Picture Understanding Before Anything

    1. This module gives students a clear understanding of how accounting functions within an Australian business.

    2. Students learn how Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Tax, and General Ledger roles are structured and how work flows between them. The module explains how accounting interacts with sales, operations, HR, and management, and why these connections matter.

    3. This module also explains how different departments within a business work together with the accounting team, and how transactions originating in different departments trigger accounting entries and end to end workflows.

    4. By the end of this module, students can confidently explain how an Australian accounting department works which a skill employers expect in interviews.

    5. Outcome: Ability to clearly describe the accounting function and “big picture” in an Australian workplace.

  • Real Tasks, Real Documents, Real Australian Workflows

    1. This module teaches how Accounts Payable works from purchase request through to supplier payment, using real Australian workflows.

    2. Students learn how invoices are received, checked, coded, and paid, how GST is reviewed, and how supplier statements are reconciled.

    3. These task and workflow are shown using common accounting systems such as Xero or MYOB.

    4. The module also focuses on what employers expect from AP staff, including accuracy, attention to detail, and professional communication with suppliers.

    5. Outcome: Ability to explain and perform core Accounts Payable tasks with confidence.

  • How Businesses Get Paid

    1. This module explains how Accounts Receivable works, using real Australian workflows.

    2. Students learn how customer invoices are created, how payments are allocated, how overdue debts are followed up, and how aging reports are used to manage cash flow.

    3. Practical exercises reflecting real AR responsibilities in Australian workplaces will be shown.

    4. The module also focuses on what employers expect from AR staff.

    5. Outcome: Ability to manage and explain the Accounts Receivable process professionally.

  • From Daily Transactions to Financial Reports

    1. This module explains how all accounting transactions ultimately flow into the General Ledger (GL) and how financial statements are prepared in Australian businesses.

    2. Students learn how and when businesses prepare Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, & Cash Flow statements, and why management requests them, and how they are used for decision making. The module also introduces manual journal adjustments, accruals, prepayments, and corrections commonly required at month end.

    3. We walk through the end-to-end GL process in an Australian business, from daily transactions to final reports and explain what tasks entry level accountants are typically responsible for and what employers expect them to understand.

    4. Outcome: Ability to explain how financial statements are produced and how GL work supports reporting.

  • Using the Systems Australian Employers Expect

    1. This module introduces the accounting software most commonly used by Australian employers.

    2. Students learn which systems are used by small, medium, and large businesses, with a focus on Xero and MYOB, and an overview of QuickBooks. The training explains what level of software knowledge employers expect from entry level accountants.

    3. Key system features such as invoicing, bills, bank feeds, reconciliations, reporting, and GST tracking are demonstrated, helping students feel confident navigating real accounting software.

    4. Outcome: Confidence using common Australian accounting software and discussing system experience in interviews.

  • Understanding the End-to-End Payroll Process

    1. This module explains the complete Australian payroll process, from employee onboarding to final salary payments.

    2. Students learn how payroll is calculated, how to identify industry awards and how pay rates, penalties, and allowances are determined. The module covers ATO requirements, including PAYG withholding, Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting, year end payroll finalisation, and superannuation payments.

    3. This course covers Australian employee leave entitlements and clearly explains how different types of leave are accrued and calculated in practice.

    4. The entire payroll process is explained end-to-end, so students understand how payroll is prepared accurately in accordance with the Australian regulatory requirements.

    5. Outcome: Understanding of Australian payroll processes and compliance expectations.

  • Meeting Australian Tax and Reporting Obligations

    1. This module focuses on BAS and GST in Australia.

    2. Students learn BAS requirements, how GST is calculated from real transactions, and how PAYG amounts are reported.

    3. The module explains different BAS lodgement frequencies, IAS (Instalment Activity Statement) lodgements, and how companies submit these to the ATO.

    4. Practical examples are used to show how businesses review figures, lodge BAS, and make payments.

    5. Outcome: Ability to understand and explain BAS, GST, IAS and ATO reporting processes.

  • Understanding Basic Company Tax Lodgement

    1. This module provides a high-level understanding of Australian company tax returns.

    2. Students learn the basic tax return process, key information required, how accounting records feed into tax lodgements, and how companies work with accountants or tax agents. The focus is on awareness and understanding, not becoming a tax specialist.

    3. Outcome: Confidence in discussing company tax basics and understanding how financial data supports tax lodgements.

  • Presenting Yourself as a Job-Ready Accounting Candidate

    1. This module prepares students to secure and succeed in accounting roles in Australia.

    2. Students learn what employers look for in an accounting CV, what key points must be included, and how to clearly present Uni2Work training as practical Australian experience. It focuses on how to speak confidently about technical knowledge, even if accent is a concern.

    3. We also cover Australian workplace culture, communication style, interview expectations, and how this differs from many Asian countries, including how employers expect candidates to behave, respond, and interact professionally.

    4. Outcome: Stronger CVs, confident interviews, and better cultural alignment with Australian employers

    No prior Australian accounting work experience is required for this course.
